Hiiiiii Family!!!

First off, I wanted to thank you guys for the package! I felt so loved, and I really enjoyed reading your letters. I just picked it up a few minutes ago actually. :)
That's awesome that you got to talk to Sister Walpole, Dixon, and Ashby already! :) It was really great and comforting to see all of them.

Well, I am doing good! I actually wrote a letter to you all my first night at the MTC, but I was only able to send it today. Busy, Busy, Busy. That is the motto of the MTC. It's a good motto. :) So yes, I won't tell you much about the first day, because I wrote all about it in my letter and I actually don't have a lot of time to write. Twenty-four minutes and counting...:)

So the MTC is great! I really like it! My companion's name is Sister Woodward. We are very similar and we get a long very well. She comes from a large family of... fourteen kids? I think it was fourteen. They adopted a lot of children from all over the world! She is from Northern Utah, Loganish area. A town call Smithfield. The rest of my district is awesome too! We are all going to California, San Bernardino so it's been good to get to know one another and bond in that way. There are four Elders (Elder Huntsman, Seright( prounouced "See-Right" haha) Beuss, and Shappcott) and then six sisters including me (Sister Woodward, Havens, Brown, Mchood, and Coleman) We all get along very well. We found out that we have the same travel plans too, so we'll all ship out into the field together.

Yesterday was my first full day as a missionary. HOLY COW. :) It was really good. We had classes, a workshop, study time, classes, classes and classes. :) They are very good! My teachers are the best! They are kind, and you can tell that they are very passionate about missionary work. Sister Woodward and I will be teaching our first "investigator" (AKA one of our teachers tomorrow) Her name is Marie. She is a nanny that lives in England for a Mormon family. She came with the family on vacation to Utah, and Christine (The mother of the Mormon Family) asked her if she would want to meet with the missionaries. She said that she would, but we're not sure how interested she is. Our goal is to have her feel how much Heavenly Father loves her, and our commitment that we want to extend is for her to pray to feel God's love for her. Hopefully this is what she needs. It is what we are planning for, but if it's wrong then we'll just have to wing it with the spirit! :) We were also able to meet part of our branch presidency yesterday. They are awesome! I really feel support from them. So that's great.

Today has been our first P-day. It's been very good! We got to get up, go to the temple, have study time eat lunch, and now here I am! :) It's been really chill, which is pretty different from yesterday. Ha!

The Spirit here is so strong. It is so wonderful. You can feel it all of the time. When things get a little hard, you pray to have the spirit and it is so comforting. I really love the feel of the MTC. It has gotten me excited to go out and teach, and I feel like I'm learning how to be a good teacher! Wednesday seems an age ago. It really feels like I've been here forever, in a way. I'm excited to keep learning and growing. I'm especially excited to have our first lesson tomorrow, so that I can learn how to grow and improve.

Thanks for your letters!

The MTC is a wonderful place! I've seen so many people that I know, and really everyone here is so friendly and supportive of one another. I can feel that Heavenly Father takes care of us. Have a fantastic week!!! I love you! I want to hear what you all are up to! :)

Thank Katherine for her cute, cute note on the outside of the package! And I don't have her home address so I couldn't write back to her. So if she see's this, I'm sorry, and maybe send me the address? :)

My first P-day has been pretty good. We had a lot of free time actually because they give us a few hours to wash our clothes and we didn't have a lot of clothes to wash. So I'm anxious to get back on schedule. I felt like a little bit of a slacker. This will probably be the only P-Day like that though! Haha! For the rest of the night we are studying and planning for tomorrow.

Also, I think luggage-wise I'll be just fine. They don't give you too many books when you are speaking English:) So that's good!

We also got our travel plans for May 14th! We leave the MTC at 5:00 am, and catch the plane at 8:45 am. We'll be in Ontario by 9:47am! (including time change, I'm assuming.) I'm glad that we're leaving in the morning!. We'll still have the whole day in California. It seems like it's going to come pretty quickly. There is so much to learn!

I love you! Have an awesome week! Read scriptures!!! :)

Love,
Sister Cook
